Beverly Halligan

Beverly J. Halligan, age 85, of West Haven passed away peacefully on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Apple Rehab Center, West Haven with her son by her side. She was born in Binghamton, NY, on September 12, 1932, daughter of the late Edward and Mary Walker Schaffer Sr. Beverly was the loving wife of the late James D. Halligan Jr. She is survived by her beloved son Thomas M. (Marilyn Capelli) Halligan of West Haven, her adoring granddaughters Marissa J. (Kirsten Harlow) of Colorado Springs, CO and Ashley S. (Brian) Jackson of West Haven and her cherished great-grandson Keegan Jack Jackson. Beverly also leaves several nieces and nephews who brought her great joy thru the years She was predeceased by her son James D. Halligan III, her brothers Clyde E., Edward Jr., William C., and Harold E. Schaffer and her sister Irene M. Ferranti. Beverly was the youngest of her 6 siblings.

She was a long time member of the St. Therese Guild of St. Lawrence Church and was a past Vice-President of the Columbian Ladies of Fr. Curtin Council #2541 of the Knights of Columbus. Before her illness, she devoted her life to taking care of her family and was deeply devoted to St. Jude.
