Celebrating LIturgy with Children

Workshop for Parish Catechists and Catholic School Teachers

This workshop is designed for parish catechetical leaders, pastors, liturgy and music directors, Catholic school educators, catechists and more. Together we will explore the process of forming children to fully engage in liturgical celebrations including proclaiming the Word of God, preparing the Prayer of the Faithful, participating through liturgical music and more.  The evening will include the opportunity to learn and connect with others. We will close with a beautiful liturgy.

Presenter Profile

Liza Peters

Liza Peters has been the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at Holy Family since 2011. Prior to joining the retreat team, she spent four years as the Director of Religious Education at a parish in Dayton, Ohio. Liza also lived in community and worked at the St. Peter Claver Catholic Worker House in South Bend, IN. She has a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame. She lives in West Hartford with her husband and four children.

Lisa Orchen

Lisa Orchen currently serves as the Archdiocesan Director of Catechetical Initiatives for the Archdiocese of Hartford. She is a certified Catholic chaplain as well as a spiritual writer, parish catechist, and leader of diocesan workshops and retreats. Lisa also works for the STEP program at the University of Notre Dame, developing and facilitating online continuing formation courses in theology and ministry. She has both a B.A. and Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame.

Fr. David Cinquegrani

Fr. David Cinquegrani, C.P. is the Retreat Director at Holy Family. He holds both Master of Divinity and Master of Liturgical Theology degrees from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago as well as a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music from Marywood University in Scranton, PA.  Fr. David entered the Passionist Community in 1989 and has been a chaplain, music educator and choir director for over 35 years. He taught music at the University of Saint Joseph for 20 years and is currently teaching elementary music at St. Thomas the Apostle School in West Hartford.
